The idea in one picture
Think of it as a letter, not a phone call. Your customers write the order on our side. We wrap it up and deliver it to your bakery through a secure, sealed envelope β one that never opens a live line between our servers and your systems.
What actually happens, step by step
They open the portal we host for your bakery, browse your products, and place the order. On their side, it feels like a normal online shop. Behind the scenes, the order is stored on our secure servers β not on your computer.
The system packages the order into a compact, structured file β the kind of file that any bakery computer can read, on any platform. Think of it as a digital purchase order that arrives neatly organized and ready to import.
The order file is delivered to the bakery's designated email address as an attachment. There is no direct connection between the portal and your computer. No open ports, no remote access, no live database link. The order simply arrives, just like a message.
When it suits the bakery β right away, later in the day, or on a schedule β your team imports the file into your local system. The order appears with everything already filled in: products, quantities, customer, totals.
You choose when and how often. If the internet goes down for an hour, the order waits calmly in your inbox. Nothing is lost.
Invoicing, inventory, production planning, recipes, customer history β all of it lives on your own computers, under your own control. Nothing sensitive is ever sent back to the hosted portal.
Why we built it this way
Before we built Coral Soft Bake, we tried the cloud-first approach that most vendors push. We hosted our recipes, our costs, and our customer list on platforms we didn't own. It was fast to set up β and it never felt right. It didn't fit a bakery.
So we went the other way. Your bakery keeps what makes it a bakery. We handle only the part that needs to be online: the ordering front door.
β What stays with you
- Recipes and formulations
- Cost structures and margins
- Customer list and purchase history
- Inventory and lot tracking
- Invoices and internal documents
- Everything a competitor would love to see
π« What never leaves
- No live connection to your computer
- No open ports, no remote access
- No recipes sent to us
- No costs sent to us
- No customer data sent to us
- No third parties looking over your shoulder
Payment processing (only if you want it)
Some bakeries choose to accept online payments through the portal. This is always the bakery's independent decision.
- You pick your preferred payment provider on your own β we don't force one on you.
- You negotiate directly with them. We don't act as a middleman.
- We help with the technical integration only if you ask us to.
- Payment data never passes through our systems.
Who owns what
- Your bakery owns its data. Recipes, costs, customers β all of it stays with you.
- We process order information only to deliver it to you. We don't use it, resell it, or analyze it.
- You are the data controller for your customers. We are simply a technology provider acting on your behalf.
What we do β and what we don't
We do
- Host and maintain the ordering portal
- Deliver orders safely to your bakery
- Provide technical support for the portal
- Help integrate services you choose to add
- Keep the portal fast, secure, and stable
We don't
- Process payments or hold funds
- Handle refunds or financial transactions
- Access your local bakery systems
- Promote or recommend payment providers
- Touch your recipes, costs, or customer data
